Simple software for your team.
When your team has outgrown a spreadsheet but doesn't need a full enterprise system, this is what we build. A simple website only your team can log into, that does exactly the job they need — booking, approving, reviewing, tracking, whatever it is.
What we actually build.
A real website with proper logins and a real database, hosted on your own systems. Built so it won't fall over when you hire your next 10 people. None of which means it takes a year — most are live in 4 to 10 weeks.
What you get
A live website your team uses, hosted on your own setup. Proper logins, with different permissions for different roles. A tested database. Dashboards showing what's going on. Written instructions for your team. All the code (yours to keep). A 30-day window where we fix anything that comes up. A trained team.
What you don't get
A Retool prototype that breaks at scale. A "no-code" tool you can't extend. Six months of "discovery". A platform that costs more per seat than your CRM. Anything that can't survive the next hire who looks at the codebase.
How we work is different.
The old way
- 😩Six-month roadmaps before any code ships
- 😟One enterprise platform pretending to do everything
- 😞Hand off the spec, disappear, invoice
- 😔Demos that don't survive contact with reality
- 🙁You depend on the agency, forever
The Intellilabs way
- ✨A real web app, live in 4–10 weeks
- 🔐Proper logins, audit logs, real database
- 💻Built in your GitHub from day one
- 💸No per-seat fees as your team grows
- 🔑You own the codebase forever
Common questions on internal tools.
Don't we just need an Airtable?
If Airtable fits, use Airtable — we'll tell you so on the call. We build the custom version when your data is too complex for a sheet, you need proper logins with different permissions, or you need a custom screen for your team's exact job. Sometimes the answer is "start in Airtable, move later" — that's fine too.the data model is too complex for sheets, when you need real auth and permissions, when the UI needs to fit the work (and not the other way around), or when you'll outgrow the no-code tool in 12 months. Sometimes the answer is "start in Airtable, migrate later" — that's a valid plan too.
How long does an internal tool take to build?
Most are live in 4 to 10 weeks. A simple approval queue can be 3 to 4 weeks. A complete operations system is 8 to 12 weeks. We give you a fixed timeline after a scoping call.
What does it cost to run?
Most run for £50 to £200 a month regardless of how many people use them. There are no per-seat fees because you own it. We tell you the cost up front.Cloudflare + Postgres and run for £50–£200/month, regardless of how many people use them. There are no per-seat fees because you own it. We size it in design and put the running cost on the proposal.
Do we own the code?
Yes, fully. We work in your GitHub from day one and every commit is yours. If we got hit by a bus, your team or any decent developer could pick it up.
What about auth, permissions, SSO?
Standard. We use whatever fits — Auth0, Clerk, your own setup. Single sign-on with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Okta. Different permissions for different roles, with extra data protection where the data demands it.
What if the design needs to evolve?
It will. We design with that in mind. The look-and-feel, the design choices, and the data structure are all documented for your team. If you'd rather we keep improving it for you, the Partner package (from £2,400 a month) covers ongoing changes and new features.
Not sure if this is the right service? Try the audit first.
A 5-minute interactive audit gives you a score and three pattern-matched recommendations. No commitment.
One system for 14 restaurants.
A food group running three brands across fourteen venues. The head office team was working evenings to copy numbers from one system into another. We built the shared system they'd been doing in their heads.
The tech partner for a 14-venue food group.
We pulled all the data — tills, staff rotas, stock, accounting, banking — into one place. Built a simple website for head office and the chefs to use during the week. Texts for the people who aren't at a desk. Weekly profit reports per venue, automatic.
